SUNDAY WISDOM-CHRISTMAS DAY
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

One wonderful thing about the net is, we get to know the essence of a person from the inside out rather than the usual mode of getting to know a person from the outside in. I often have wondered about the ‘microchip’ of the soul…if it had a color, what color would it be? Would it have a sound, a vibration; would it be particles swirling in motion? What is the energy of the essence? When I think of the ‘heart’ I think of a rainbow of beautiful lights/colors and energy — dancing swirling showers of mystical droplets, total freedom & boundless love. No hunger or thirst, no pain or suffering… no loneliness. I read somewhere once we are all droplets of water on the same big rainforest leaf, but we don’t know we are one until the leaf bends and the droplets roll into each other. And then we realize we were all made of the same stuff all along, even though we though we remained separate islands unto ourselves, all along we were the same. So tonight for Sunday’s thought, when I think about what’s in my heart — and compare that with what comes out of my mouth (for it is written power of life and death is in the tongue, and we shall have what we say, therefore speak blessings and life and not curse, for as a man thinketh and believeth so he becometh and so forth) and when I compare that to the fruitage of my life (for beauty is as beauty does) I’m going to contemplate not this mortal body, separate from yours and not my outward appearance, different from yours… but that life force spark within each one of us, that light of the heart EW and CRC alluded to… and wonder when that day comes in which I go wherever it is we go when the mortal temple is no more… what will my essence be — what really is the microchip of my soul?

It is LOVE.

Okay, Okay, thing is, this is idealistic and has nothing to do with reality which is truly beautiful because it is complex. In reality, all ladies and gents are both good and evil at the same time; and, although words do hurt (unless you’re Irish), Actions Speak Louder than Words. The Heart of Man is a 2 sided object and all of us who speak with words struggle with trying to reconcile both every day of our lives, or at least we ought to.
I can’t believe I’m doing this again.

Say, thanks DEBO! Merry Christmas to you, too.

I agree with the whole balance of good and evil thing, Monkey. You keep the devil down he strikes back harder. But, the older I get the more I have come to understand and have personally witnessed the spoken word has a lot more power than we give it credit. It is also an action and it stays out there influencing other actions. I’d rather have good words out there influencing, then bad words. Get my drift?

IMHO, words are vessels. They can bring happiness, laughter, enlightment, wisdom, passion, anger, hate and depending upon the words spoken, they can heal a heart or wound a spirit.
Without the ACTION to back up the words spoken, the words can oftentime become incredibly WORTHLESS.
As the saying goes…..WALK THE TALK.
It is my fervent hope and desire that mankind soon learns to Walk the Talk of Love and not Hate.

Oh yes, I see what you mean. I just bought an enamel pendant from Nepal. On one side is a face that symbolizes “Intuition.” On the other side is a circle of words to pray on “Truth” and “Kindness.” I think about it all the time. How can one speak the truth but also be kind? I pray for that ability but think that most of the kind people I’ve known have never been all that truthful.
But this topic about Good and Evil is so polarized. A guarantee for failure. I kind of wonder if Jesus really said it. One is to repress the bad and express the good and everyone fails at that. I just saw Billy Graham on Larry King. Larry asked Billy about Michael Jackson and Billy said only nice things about Michael Jackson. I know it’s Billy Graham, and I know he’s an Ace Right On Guy, but all I could think was “Come On!!! Say it like it is.” I could imagine him saying the same nice things about lynchers back in the 50′s. I’m sure in their hearts the lynchers thought they were good.

Many years ago I ran a crew of 50 men.
One day. One of those 50 had a problem reading back measurements to me.
Well, I had plenty of power to belittle that man, but instead I gave him a chance to explain.
The wind up: “No one ever taught him how to read a ruler.”
I could-da called him an idiot. But instead, I showed him what each line represented on his 25′ metal tape.
Afterwards, the man thanked me. You see, this man had just left a job, where the boss had a big ego and loved to publicly humiliate his men.
I assume it made him look “Like the Man.”
My jolted mind never gave my ACTION any thought–until I read “How can one speak the truth but also be kind?”
“While Ben is sooo right!”
“Without the ACTION to back up the words spoken, the words can oftentime become incredibly WORTHLESS.”
These days, I am relearning the path back to my heart. It’s not easy. It takes plenty of love from all realms. Thank God, that He knew my heart. I believe this is why I AM here with you today. No matter where I go… I also believe CRC knows how grateful I am for I AM. I wasn’t coming out.
I guess it’s because People can be very mean. Like the boss who belittled my worker.
But because of — God’s love; love of family and friends — a Blue flaming Heart, the walls melted away like wax. And the rest is history.
I think we can find flaws in anyone. Some people thrive on “Getting the Dirt.” They make plenty of money destroying life with dirt. Meantime, the dirt mongers walk around with skid marks on their underwears.
So when it doubt, bleach it out.
All for One, One for ALL

Wow! I love this thread! Anything that makes people look at a subject from many different angles can only teach us something.
We all go thru life in our own little bubbles. Most of us like to believe that we’re good on both the inside and the outside.
The reality is this…..People often project out into the world the very things they want to be known for…ie… say….honesty, humbleness, kindness and love & respect for others but in private, those very same people can be cruel, controlling and unbending.
Personally, I’d much rather simply be me at all times. I am inherently kind and patient unless unduly provoked. I am extremely generous with both my time and money until I begin to feel used. I show due respect until my personal needs have been negetated. I am honest to the core unless it will hurt someone who doesnt’ deserve to be hurt but to someone who has repeatedly hurt me, I can fight back.
The balancing act is in being straightforward from the get go.
Now, there are people like my good friend Doug here…..who have thru life altering circumstances, been blessed with true ‘enlightenment’ and who can WALK THE TALK they speak (although still not easy to do, mind you)
Thank God that occasionally we’re blessed with people like him to help us stay on our path and who thru EXAMPLE teach us to fight off the negative aspects of ourselves.
As for someone like Billy…perhaps he is simply trying to WALK HIS TALK by saying only kind things about others.
It is written “Do onto others as you would have done onto you”.
Think of what a wonderful world this place would be if more of us could follow that commandment!
