TUG OF WAR

Before my interview on Good Morning Dallas, I had the great pleasure of hanging out with a penguin in the green room. There was definite synergy between us. It was a happy moment for me.

I love this photo. Looks like it was fun.

  2. Anna Says:

That is a beautiful photograph. I love the spaghetti fringed jacket. You and the penquin are sharing a moment………

  3. Doug Says:

Hi Northrop! always good to read your comments.

CRC, I see you’re hanging out with natures little tramps. I bet Charlie Chaplin taught them how to walk.

That said, I need to kick a can full of thoughts.

Aside from our religious convictions and those whimsical paintbrushes. Call me crazy, but I always compared you to Charlie Chaplin. And as time moves on, it is my hope that ‘I am’ proved right; so far I am on the right side of the tracks.

So, thanks for keeping the old and the new together. Also, thanks for keeping the so called average folks united with other human beings.

These thoughts have been kicked around for many years. why I feel at ease to share-em.

While I think about Charlie Chaplin, I realize that he had to deal with more than scratchy film. He had to deal with steel toe shoes, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts; ones that gave him the boot.

If he were alive today, I am positive, he’d be proud of you and all that PAH stands for. Thanks for teaching us how to control the machines, rather than machines controlling us. While at the same time, we get to share our stories. I never like to use the word I, but in this case I am. I really do see everyone as unique; I realize I am not alone, as we share our hearts with one another here.

To Pre-schoolers, new schoolers and old schoolers: We must never forget, that their was more to silent films than scratchy and jumpy images. Also, thanks for keeping the truth in your moving making. Now, better FLIP on your cool sunglasses, because the future is going to be bright. I predict that many stars are going to shine.

And so, i will end on these famous words:

Look up! Look up! The clouds are lifting – the sun is breaking through. We are coming out of the darkness into the light. We are coming into a new world. A kind new world where men will rise above their hate and brutality.

“The soul of man has been given wings – and at last he is beginning to fly. He is flying into the rainbow – into the light of hope – into the future, that glorious future that belongs to you, to me and to all of us. Look up. Look up.” (Charlie Chaplin)

  4. Doug Says:

Hi Anna, just caught ya. Barn, surfs up!

  5. Jeff Says:

Hi Doug, I enjoyed reading your thoughts on Charlie Chaplin and found them to be words of encouragement. As for you CRC “The future’s so bright I gotta wear shades” Or “Your future with what you are doing with Pah is so bright you gotta wear shades”.

-I cannot remember the band that lyric came from
    although they deserve credit.

  6. Doug Says:

Jeff, thanks for the acknowledging my comment. You’re a good man. While I found your lyrical comment to CRC, very encouraging. I cannot recall the band, but I’m sure it will come to me. My brain is on a delayed recall mode. Not to get into it, but what I forgot – I am relearning. So as long as I don’t forget that I am…the rest will work its way out. My brain is like a rusty tool. I need a little WD-40. :)

  7. Doug Says:

Hey Jeff! I am familiar with this song, and even hope to sing along and post on PAH’s Hobo’s Corner. “Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades” -Timbuk3

I’ll tag it: Thanks Jeff! Dedicated to PAH Nation’s Future.

    Thanks once again!

  8. Joy Says:

    Oh I love penguins!
    Great pic :)

  9. Anna Says:

    I study nuclear science
    I love my classes
I got a crazy teacher, he wears dark glasses
Things are going great, and they’re only getting better
I’m doing all right, getting good grades
The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades,
    I gotta wear shades

    Coppola shades………

  10. Doug Says:

Anna, I like the line: Things are going great, and they’re only getting better

Joy, check out Happy Feet. You’ll love the entire nation of penguins.

Maybe Barn and CRC’s puppet will venture to Antarctica. :) I see them as Happy Hearts! :)

  11. The Barn Says:

And PAH Pito sitting on his perch as CRC walks into the house after a loooong Mini PAH Fest, states…
“I knew it! I knew there was another bird! She left her beak stick on your coat! Christopher! How could you!!!”
CRC, knowing he’s caught red handed, replies…
“What can I say. Chicks dig me.”
Stay tuned as we see CRC’s head grow to enormous proportions!

I should have been a writer.
    Be well,
