Gonna be difficult to let the EARSXXI go on it’s way, but I’m on board.
I’m working on a new segment for The NEM. And yes, it involves a Catapillar front loader.
Got to love the Flip.
Trying to find a way to upload a flip vid to these webcam comments, but it’s a tough path to find.
I’m gonna have to change your E-Mail address to the Christopher Coppola Productions address. Respect due where respect is earned.
Ego…. Your a hoot! I remember.
Be well,

Having a healthy ego is a good thing, it’s what makes thing happen.

Thanks for posting my video. I appreciate this very much.
Anna, let me tell you something about egos. As I reflect back to my construction days. I had a team of powerhouses. We would kick butt and take no prisoners! These men that I lead had healthy egos. And as I matter of fact, I thought I was indestructible.
Well, I received a jolting dose of reality. I did prove that I can take a licken but, I am thankful to God that my heart kept ticken. Say good-bye to ego and bench pressing over 350 pounds.
Anyhow, we had a sheet rocker, a part-time worker/boxer — and I will leave him nameless — the guy had an ego that was fatter than my head.
One day, he tried to show us up. Sad to say, his cuts around the electrical outlets were off, the boards were tacked. As a matter of fact, the boards looked like he beat them in place. I am not kidding. In 3 hours, he caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.
The (sheet rock) kicker: I had to fire him. But before I did, this guy tried to bad mouth me behind my back – too bad my men had too much respect for me, they told him were to go.
Well, he went packing. 5 years later, I had built a bank, and guess what? The guy with the over inflated ego, had heard that I was in town. And so, with a full head of steam, he blew onto the bank’s job-site. Lucky for him, because I had to layout a new job, or forgetaboutit! I am not the same person as I am today. Or he… Nuff said. Like I said, I am not the same person.
The moral of this story is: Check your ego at the door, or risk getting it jolted out.
I am very proud of my many accomplishments. As a team leader I never crapped on the ladder as I rose to the top. Thank God, because I would have been covered with crap, especially when I made my horrible descend down the rungs.
So Ann, that’s what happens when a healthy ego tries to make it happen, they become hazardous.
I am forever humbled. Whoa! My heart went to town.
Surf’s up brodda!

The Ego
In Freud’s view the Ego stands in between the Id and the Superego to balance our primitive needs and our moral beliefs and taboos. (“Ego” means “I” in Latin; the original German word Freud coined was “Ich”.) He stated that the Ego consists of our conscious sense of self and world, a highly structured set of unconscious defenses that are central in defining both individual differences in character or personality, and the symptoms and inhibitions that define the neuroses. Relying on experience, a healthy Ego provides the ability to adapt to reality and interact with the outside world in a way that accommodates both Id and Superego.
Carl Jung’s views on the Ego
Carl Jung saw the Ego (which Freud wrote about in the literal German as “the I”, that is, one’s conscious experience of what one is) as the center of the conscious part of the psyche. In Jungian psychology, Ego has four functions: sensation, feeling, thinking, and intuition. Combining the dominance of some of functions with the extraversion-introversion polarity, Jung had developed his version of psychological typology. The “I” or Ego is tremendously important to Jung’s clinical work. Jung’s theory of etiology of psychopathology could almost be simplified to be stated as a too rigid conscious attitude towards the whole of the psyche.
I feel for you Doug and it sound like you did wonderful things in your past, hopefully as life goes on, beautiful things will happen in your life. I was talking about Freud and Jung and how it is important to have self esteem and a healthy ego to do well in today’s world.

Thanks Anna. I appreciate your kind words and wishes.
Ya know something? You’re a walking encyclopedia. Anna-pedia. Thanks for sharing those 2 views on ego.
Here’s another view about the ego, from a simple mind, straight off the top of my topper, to the tune of Pop Goes The Weasel:
Johnny ‘had’ a super yacht
Mary ‘had’ bad plastic surgery
That’s the way the money goes
Pop — goes the EGO!

CRC, way back when I shared my hopes and prayers on a parchment and tape. I can never thank you enough for believing in my heart.
I cannot take any credit for the conception of I am, either; and back then, to convey what God put on my heart, quite frankly, was a real challenge.
Well, as history has it, I took on that challenge, but before I did, I prayed for extra strength and clarity, then yanked the block from my heart and let it flow…and I am still flowing today.
Now, do you recall when I had said,
As I go back to the drawing board of my life, my hope is that Hollywood goes back, too, eh?
Well, not for anything…but I am excited to learn that your uncle Francis Ford Coppola is going to take everyone back, with his upcoming film Tetro.
I mean this with all of my heart. I wish him and his cast nothing but success. In fact, I am praying for much success.
To go back to B&W is very challenging, but if anyone can bring the emotion to the screen, it will be your uncle.
May his movie have a great reception in theaters and receive raving reviews and much acknowledgements.
Blessings,
Doug

Coppola, I have a new friend, Carlos Acosta, he’s the Director of Special Projects in Santa Fe under Lt. Governor. I told him about you and all. I had to redo the egg, he wasn’t happy with it.
