SUNDAY WISDOM

Be happy. Talk happiness. Happiness calls out responsive gladness in others. There is enough sadness in the world without yours…never doubt the excellence and permanence of what is yet to be. Join the great company of those who make the barren plac.

In keeping with Ms. Kellers words….
I have found a new house to move to. It is out in the country on a farm. It’s an old mobile home that I have agreed to do some work on to eliminate the hefty deposit. The view outside my bedroom window is of the Rocky Mountains without any obstructions. I have two, YES 2 apple trees in the front yard. And here is the greatest part…It is not on city property, rather the county, and I can put up an Inipi Lodge there and have my sacred fire for heating up the rocks!!! I will be taking cuttings fron the Willows that grow here at my old address and planting them in the ground at my new place. Willow is the only tree that I know of that you can just stick a stick in the ground and it will grow. It is no wonder that we use this sacred tree to construct the skeleton for an Inipi Lodge. It is truely a living lodge.
Just some of the many wonders of The C’unka Luta Was’te. (The Good Red Road) If anyone would like to know more go to my link here at CRC’s in the Blogroll. Just hit The Barn and poof! Your there.
Now everyone has to tell a fantastic story of happieness to keep this a sacred day here at CRC’s place.
    BRODDA? Anna? Yankee? And MONKEY!!!
    Surfs up!
    Be well,

    Is it a Weeping iWllow?

  4. California Yanqui Says:

That’s good news Barn, since returning to Arizona
(it’s been about 5 weeks now) I have struggled but my family has been there and I’m around my daughters again. It’s a great joy to watch them pursue there hobbies and in general go about there daily life with school and their friends.

I still can’t get use to their talk about boys.

Things are looking better. I will never give up on my passion of creating or trying to regain my career in broadcasting it’s just not very prevalent in Arizona. I have some offers to work along with Arizona Department of Transportation and also have an interview with the Palo Verde Nuclear power plant that’s about 20 miles from my home.

I would really like to get involved with the clean energy movement and be able to break away from coal and oil.

Still fighting to save my home. (something I have kept a secret except that Barn knows)

I am very angry over the lack of support from my nations political leaders that have (in my view) spew lip service and lies for the last forty five years to achieve their ego boost at the demise of the American people. Another story for another time.

CRC you pick some of the best quotes at the best times possible. I truly wish you and your family the very best and that your dreams are fullfilled.

I especially liked the story about directing for AMW, I have battled the same thing with trying to find my voice and how should I react to people that don’t get what I do and how to make a living out of something I love to do.

Anyway all is good and to keep an open heart we will get through the toughest times.

    Tim

No Anna. It’s a Red Willow. I use it’s bark for making C’in C’asha to smoke in The C’anupa. (Sacred Pipe)
YANKEE! Thats good to know your closer to your family. And about the house? It will all be good. If you get to keep it, it’s a ball and chain. If you lose it? Much more freedom. It’s why I rent. I don’t want equity, just a roof over my head. If I had my way, I’d be in a Tipi. Glowing fire in the middle, buffalo and bear skin bed, and my door would always face East to greet the morning each day, and I’d be able to take it with me when “The Man” runs me off.
As Chief Joseph of The Nez Perce once said…
“Who can own a tree, a stream, a rock?”

Thanks to you CRC for this open blog of yours or else I would never have said half the things I have written. It all started with OTL and it has introduced to me many people that I have grown very fond of.

The hobo prophet and Barn, more Barn have heard my little trials and tribulations and this last year. 12 long months, has been the toughest of my life. And believe me I have gone through my share of bad luck in my short 49 years. I think turning 49 was another nail in the depression coffin or the introverted retrospection of the troubles but either way as long as I’m with my daughters and still breathing I can regain what I lost and be the person that I have allways been.

    Thanks all.

  8. Doug Says:

Mr. Coppola, your Sunday Wisdom never ceases to inspire and enrich our life. Many thanks! You spoke about the number of years that everybody has been here, where does the time go? :) Time well spent. I have no regrets. That’s for sure.

Before I send my wishes to brodda, I need to give Cali a bit of my heart:

You don’t have to believe me or even trust me, but I can feel your pain when you write. Something that I have learned over years – and it basically began here. Thanks CRC for giving us a special place to roost. Many moons ago, I was known as EARWAX.

Cali, I know what betrayal feels like. I know what it feels like to have my eyes nearly pushed out of my head while my teeth cracked one…by one, by one. But forget that.

Generally speaking, people can be very mean (and love to kick one when they are down), if you don’t serve their purpose, you become history. That is a terrible sinking feeling, especially on the heart.

You mentioned the word angry. Anger will cause more troubles than what that horrible emotion is worth. Anger is good but not when it causes you to lose it to the point of craziness. It can be a very dark and lonely place. “Let go of that horrid emotion.” You’re a good man. That will only bring you down. Thinking GREEN will beat those meanies. :)

As far as America, maybe it could be different, but there is no greater place to live. One thing about Americans, you can beat them down, but they will come back stronger than ever. Give-em your heart, my friend.

Brodda, congratulations on your new home! I always loved willows. Anywho, may your home be blessed with ALL the good tings in life.

    And so…

All For One, One For ALL

  9. Doug Says:

Cali, I just noticed your 2:34 pm comment, I am deeply touched that you see CRC’s site as an open blog. It takes much courage to share your heart. Thanks for sharing yours with us. From the heart to many hearts!

    Heartfully,
    Doug

  10. Anna Says:

The bark of the Weeping willow was used for headache by the Indians so that was why I was asking about the sacred tree. I tried to grow a Bing cherry tree but I didn’t water it enough and than I pull it out and baby roots were growing, so I guess I kill it.
    Maybe I will try again………

    Medicine
The leaves and bark of the willow tree have been mentioned in ancient texts from Assyria, Sumer and Egypt[5] as a remedy for aches and fever,[6] and the Ancient Greek physician Hippocrates wrote about its medicinal properties in the 5th century BC. Native Americans across the American continent relied on it as a staple of their medical treatments. This is because they contain salicylic acid, the precursor to aspirin.

  12. Kimberlee Says:

Thank you for posting this Sundays Wisdom. I really like what it says. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
    Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

  13. Doug Says:

Doc, after 9 years of solid bible studies (no counting 30 + years of going to Mass and casual) , I should be better at reciting and recalling verses. Anyhow, here is another wise verse: Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Prov 29:18)

Another reason why CRC is a Godsend.
