  5. The Barn Says:

Last night we had Inipi. A Medicine Man named Dave Swallow and his wife Nilah came and poured the sweat. Nilah spoke during the 3rd round, and said that it was our responsibility to ensure that the young ones not forget the old ways. This is central to Native American belief because the U.S. Government tries to erradicate this from their culture. Up to 1977 it was illeagal to participate in the ceremonies I attend and am intrigual to. Native American children were “sent” to boarding schools and it was forbidden to speak their language and practice their religon. ALL this was all but lost, except for some of those who are my generation that remembered the stories that their Grandpa and Unc’i (Grandma) told them. Now we tell them to our grandchildren, and bring them to Inipi, and Sundance, and House Ceremony.
THEY ARE THE FUTURE! Teach them well.
    Mitakuye Oyasin! Aho!

The Isotopes here are great too. :) :)

Mr. Aarne I can’t hear your webcam comment very well. Can you adjust the volume or get closer to the microphone? Thanks. :)

” The gravity of an aged person can pull youth within its sphere. That influence should be used wisely to maximize a pull toward all that is wise and good.”

Hope everyone is having a safe and very reflective Memorial Day weekend. CRC, Barn, Aduzi, Kimberlee, Doc and every other heart that tunes in – I am very sorry for the sound issues at this moment, this will be resolved, but then again, maybe it’s meant to BE. Why I need to depart on another great man’s wisdom; paraphrased from a LETTER FROM MR. TOM SEBASTIAN TO me. “It’s not one
movie you made. It never stops. Maybe silence never stops when you
take out the words and look for the moments.”
