Good morning. Sometimes I think we get led to things, and when I woke up this morning I had the urge to listen to this, your latest piece. I can’t explain it without it sounding like a weird ego thing (“the universe wanted *me* to hear this, etc.), but… for a lot of reasons, I am glad to have heard it today.
You are one of the most honest people I’ve ever worked with, and at the risk of this sounding like obsequious flattery, I really appreciate that– Christopher. Thank you.
About 10 years ago, I spent a few months in the city of Coquille, OR. It’s about the size of Junction City, a bit smaller perhaps – 1 stop light. A small hardware store. A barber shop.
While I was there I got to know a great family. They had 5 kids – the oldest two were twins. On the night of the prom, the twins were driving their dates home and swerved to dodge a deer and crashed into a tree. One of the brothers died in the crash. Everyone came to the funeral – what I meant to say was EVERYONE came to the funeral. It was incredibly sad – but the way the town came together was very beautiful and inspiring.
